HGA Core Knowledge Courses provide board members and their leadership with a common core of knowledge that supports engagement. Core Knowledge courses are a great way to onboard new board members or refresh your current team. Two tracks are available: Core Knowledge for Board Members and Special Topics for Board Chairs and Chief Executives.

Basic Board Concepts
On the most basic level, a board’s work can be broken down into three categories: fiduciary, strategic and generative. This course explains the basic duties of a board (below) and additional issues that today’s boards must focus on to achieve excellence for their organizations.
